(We're) Not Gonna Let This Little Town Die" (c) 2017
V1
The store-fronts are boarded up.
The folks we knew have left town.
they've gone to greener pastures,
but we're still hangin around.
No matter what they say
it's the only place we've known
in our lives.
No we're not going to let
not gonna let
our little town die.
Chorus:
There's Amy's General Store.
Jerry's Hardware.
There's the old post office,
The old high school
and the old town square.
There's the statue of
mayor Palmer from 1953.
and the little church
out by the creek where
we got married.
There's old Johnson's farm
and the old covered bridge.
There's O'reily park
and that view from the ridge.
Now I'd be lyin if I told
you we wouldn't be fightin.
to keep this little town alive.
No we won't let this
No we won't let
this little town die.
Bridge:
The land developers want to take our
town away.
But we're stayin put till its final day.
They want to redesign it their way.
To those corporate folks
we're going to say no way.
We're not going to let you tear it up or down.
We're not going to let you ruin this small town.
We'll bring em' back to the town we
all love.
yeah -
We're going to rebuild it like the way it was.
Chorus:
There's Amy's General Store.
Jerry's Hardware.
There's the old post office,
and the old town square.
There's the statue of
mayor palmer from 1953.
There's the high school
Class of 73
and the church where
we got married.
There's old Johnson's farm
and the old covered bridge.
There's O'reily park
and that view from the ridge.
Now I'd be lyin if I told
you we wouldn't be fightin.
to keep this little town alive.
No we won't let this
little town die.
.
Yeah we're going to be fightin'
to keep this town alive.
No we won't let this
little town -------
yeah they can beg and plead
get on their knees and cry.
No we're not gonna
this little town
die.
